What is ChemCheck
ChemCheck comprehensively checks producer application records to ensure that only registered chemicals are used, that they are appropriate for the target pest or disease, that they are used according to the label rate, and that produce is withheld from sale or processing for the recommended period after application. Information obtained from the chemical checking process is used to highlight possible risks where chemical residue limits could be exceeded.
The checking process can be verified by both random and selective testing for residues. The emphasis is on checking the records to identify possible risks, and linking this to more efficient residue testing, rather than the more commonly used approach of testing without analysis of application records.
The logistics of gathering records from geographically diverse producer communities, deciphering handwriting, checking against a database of around 5,000 registered agriculture chemicals, and finally getting information back before the sale or processing of the product, has been virtually impossible to undertake in the past.
The people behind ChemCheck have combined a knowledge of industry practices, with an innovative approach to the deployment of technology, to build solutions with the necessary power and flexibility to overcome many of the traditional hurdles.
Experience has taught us that some agriculture producers are uncomfortable with personal computer and Internet technologies. At the core of our solutions are advanced electronic form technologies that have the flexibility to support computer literate user groups and those who are more comfortable with traditional paper based systems.
