How It Works

ChemCheck works to:

Verify that producer chemical application records comply with accepted industry or organisation recommendations
Determine risk levels of exceeding guidelines for maximum residue limits
Create a continuous improvement program by delivering effective feedback and corrective information to producers
Validate compliance records by independent random sampling and testing
Provide the results of this testing to producers
Distribute relevant information to customer organisations, if allowed by the producer

Application records are checked for:

Chemicals used being registered and approved by the industry
Chemicals used are appropriate for the target pest(s)
Chemicals are used according to label application rate guidelines
The harvest or produce growth stage withholding periods and restrictions on use requirements are satisfied
The records are complete

Producers enter their own information using the ChemCheck electronic form system and receive immediate feedback where records may be incomplete, where unregistered chemicals are used or where withholding periods are exceeded.

Summary and detail reports highlighting the most significant issues found are available. These provide a full history of the chemical applications and can be selected for nominated periods, production sections, produce varieties and individual chemicals.
